Job Title: Guest Services Agent
Department: Admissions-Guest Services
Reports to: Supervisor, Admissions
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Status: Seasonal
Job Purpose: To provide an outstanding guest experience in the
Admissions areas. Responsible for collection of admissions fees and
donations, answer guest questions and provide recommendations,
distribution of maps and other promotional materials, Membership
sales, queue line management, and admission of Members and eTicket holders.

JOB FACTORS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greets all guests with a cheerful and helpful attitude,
answers questions, and provides accurate information

Operates a computer terminal/processes Admissions transactions
-
Issues receipts and makes change
-
Balances and clears terminal and counts all fees received for
the day
-
Keeps work station and surrounding area clean throughout the
day. The ticket booth is to be cleaned and restocked at the end of
the shift. Cleaning the booth will include but is not limited to
emptying trash, cleaning the windows and counters, and
sweeping/mopping the floor

Reports to Security all suspicious-looking individuals trying
to enter Zoo grounds

Must be aware that balloons, roller blades, roller skates,
bikes, skateboards, glass items, straws and lids are not permitted
on Zoo grounds. Enforce rules.

May occasionally be assigned to assist in other operational
departments such as Rides and Attractions, Membership and/or Guest Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
18 years or older
-
Must be able to handle cash, credit cards and checks accurately
-
Must have at least 1 - 2 years’ experience in customer
service. Previous cashier work preferred

Must be able to communicate clearly with a variety of visitors
of diverse backgrounds
-
Must be friendly, outgoing and approachable
-
Must be able to make change and perform simple arithmetic
calculations with accuracy and reasonable speed
-
Typing skills are required
-
Must be able to multi-task and pay close attention to details
-
Must possess excellent problem-solving skills
-
Must have the ability to keep records of coupons and other
promotional materials
-
Computer literacy required, including proficiency in Microsoft
Office applications, with particular strength in Word and Excel.
Experience working with databases desired

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Focus on providing an excellent guest experience

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment

Zoo Atlanta is open to the public 363 days out of the year;
therefore, all positions at Zoo Atlanta may require employees to
work some weekends, holidays and evenings.

High School diploma/GED required

Possess excellent communications skills and willingness to
interact positively with Members, guests and Zoo staff
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Some lifting, bending, standing, and sitting will be part of the
daily routine.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather as well
as in an office environment
