Job Title: Group Sales Representative

Department: Sales

Reports to: Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Status: Full-time

Job Purpose:
The Group Sales Representative is responsible for sales of Zoo Atlanta’s group and consignment products, group experiences, and for providing an excellent sales experience. The Group Sales Representative will support revenue goals and selling across multiple areas of the Zoo including Group Sales, Admissions/Ticketing, Membership, Education programs, Events, Rides, and Advancement.



Essential Sales Responsibilities:

  • Actively pursue key group sales leads to assist in achieving attendance and revenue goals
  • Conduct presentations/calls to generate leads and develop new customer accounts
  • Fulfill group sales orders, enter and update orders, send and track invoices, follow up on unpaid invoices and outstanding balances for group sales
  • Follow-up with prospective sales and appropriate Zoo departments by passing leads to account managers with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
  • Assist Sales Manager with researching industry trends, evaluating customer needs, and developing group experience packages.
  • Submit activity and results reports, such as daily call reports and opportunity pipeline reports
  • Serve as a point of contact for group sales
  • Participate in trade shows, offsite marketing events and Zoo sponsored events as needed
  • Maintain accurate records; including sales call reports, billing invoices, monthly reports and other documentation
  • Provide excellent customer service for current and potential Zoo Atlanta Members, guests, partners and Zoo Atlanta teammates
  • Other projects or duties as assigned by Sales Manager and/or VP of Membership & Guest Experience
  • Must be willing to support Zoo Atlanta’s Vision, Mission and Values statement


  • Knowledge
    • Previous sales experience required, non-profit and/or hospitality experience a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close sales while maintaining established sales quotas
    • Strong knowledge of sales principles, trends, and practices
    • MS office and strong typing skills

  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational, research, and time management skills
    • Excellent computer skills required; familiarity with database systems a plus
    • Success in establishing and maintaining partnerships required
    • Customer service skills are essential including building and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally
      • Ability to work weekends and/or holidays as needed

  • Ø Other Requirements
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must maintain a good driving record to drive Zoo vehicles.


  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field


  • Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be comfortable around all species, including snakes and spiders
  • Willing to periodically travel regionally as needed
